2006 Tennessee River Rally
Just wanted to give some info about our run here in East Tennessee.
www.tennesseeriverrally.com This is a smaller run now in our 4th year. It takes place in Knoxville Tn. Looks like the date is firm now for July 22nd. If anyone needs any information on where to stay, directions, ect, just let me know. If you have never boated or visited this area, let me give you some background. Ft. Loudon and Tellico resevoirs make up part of the Tennessee River system for TVA. They are linked by a canal so no lock is required to boat on both of them. Together they have over 736 miles of shore line and 30,000 acres of surface area. One of the best things about living in the area is being able to go to University of Tennessee football games by boat since the stadium is on the water. The "Vol Navy" is made up of 100's of boats and helps to make Neiland Stadium the 4th largest city in Tennessee every Saturday of the season. It is also home to Boomsday, the largest fireworks show in the south east on Labor Day weekend. The Tennessee River Rally should follow the same rout we took last year covering just over 100 miles winding through west Knoxville and downtown Knoxville. This is river boating, not lake boating. The channel is very well marked and easy to navigate even by a visitor. On the water here you will find everything from a 16 foot john boat all the way up to a 70 foot Choy Lee yacht. You may also run into the occasional barge. This area is also home to Malibu boats, Moomba boats, Mastercraft boats, Supra boats, as well as Sea Ray. (yes we are wakeboat heaven) I hope to see as many of you here as possible. Last years run included boats of all types. The smallest boat was a Four-Winns U-19 and the largest, I believe, was a 42 Fountain. __________________ |

Transient slips.
I know Ft Loudon Marina has some transient slips, but I don't think they are covered. It is the starting point of the run. Concord Marina may have some now, and in my opinion it is a much nicer marina. Those of you that did the run last year, Concord marina is the one we passed after we went under the bridge to the 3rd card stop. It is about a 15 min boat ride to the start of the run. If they can accomodate you, that is where I would stay. It is also behind where I live so I would not mind showing you guys the way. Here are some links to those marinas. Ft.
