Interesting project, but it illustrates the problem for heavy duty electric vehicles. 24 kwh battery weighs as much as 75 gals of gas (~350 kg), but gives the 200 hp motor a 10 minute run time. And that assumes discharging to zero (horrible for battery packs)with zero losses in the A/C conversion.
75 gal of gas runs a WOT 200hp engine a long time The math, again all at 100% efficiency 200 hp = 149 kw 24 kwh / 149 kw = 0.16 hours, or 9.66 minutes Basically, one, maybe two speed runs per charge
