one way to total a boat as well-hope they had good insurance in the bahamas. You would think that the risk of oil/fuel spill would be greater the way they did this?
cool pics, sad situation !

Thats a shame, I can't believe they trashed that boat. That looked very salvagable. There must have been major damage to the bottom that we could not see. I was waiting to the picture of the CAT burried in the sand.

You would think some things had to be ok- how much is a hardtop factory option and they couldn't salvage that? I know that is little money when talking the whole boat but sure would think they could get a ton of things off it to make a difference.

How about dig around it at low tide, strap it up at high tide and pull it out??? I know the bottom could cause a ton of suction but all it takes is one good wave to break her free. Get a dredging barge out there and make a semi channel?

I'd like to hear the whole story. Must be something we can't see from those pictures.

The title says "...on a reef..." so could be there is a reef they didn't want to distrub was my guess. Just seems to me there would have been a better way. The travel lift at my marina has huge tires- put down some metal plates to spread the weight out and lift with that or some thing. Anything but cranes I would think but bet you that was fun to pick it apart!

It could be just staged. By the local hurricane cleanup/Cat rental/whatever...

They prepared it, floated it in on high tide, and did a photo shoot for her demise.

I don't see any oil underneath, seems to be allot of wiring missing, also
where are the pictures of the motors being hauled. You would think there
would be picture of the motors/outdrives hanging from the shovels.

Dammit Mark, you beat me to it! LoL!!! I'm trying to get the inside scoop on this, got it in my email this morning. It's a shame though... there had to have been some substantial damage and/or environmentalists could have thrown a big stink and limited their options. I didn't see any sign of fuel spill, so they must've pumped it all out before the demolition. Kinda looks like they stripped it of the elecs as well.
