Boat Barn

Well I was hoping it would be done by now but they 15-20 estimated trucks of bank run ended up being closer to 60 trucks. $7K mistake, opps...

40 x 48 on 63 acres with about an acre cleared. Building will be up at the end of next week, then concrete floor the week after and then moving the boat in! Electric will be in but plumbing and HVAC may have to wait until next year (bank run mistake blew the budget..)

There is a skid loader in the frame for scale.

Just a building for now.

I work like 2 miles north of our house, my wife works about 300 yards north of our house, our rv lot with boat lift is about 4 miles west of our house on the water and the building will be about 6 miles south of my house. I'm in walking distance to several watering holes so I'm not moving for a while. We looked at building down there before buying/building the house we moved in 9/09 but liked where we ended up at better.

Looks like it's going to be a nice setting for a house or a boat building.

Gonna be really nice Mark. But I can't believe that you actually posted a map to home/work/boat so any of us can show up un invited.

I'm shy so even if you showed up, I most likely wouldn't talk very much...

Mark it looks like it is going to be cool ,what are you going to do with the rest of the 63 acres. That close to the water have you thought about doing a boat storage lot and renting spaces.

There is not a market for that in my area. This place is a few miles past my RV joint, not in the above pic.

http://goosebaymarina.com/

$60/month to park in the field, on the water with mechanics on site, boat ramps, boat store, etc. So I would have to be 1/2 that.

4 of us are renting a 4 bay building (old fire house) for $1200/month. Me, 45Sonic/Bill, my friend Pam and my buddy Willie. $150/mo each for indoor lightly heated- not much market for it in my area.

2nd/3rd pic is the marina and restaurant down by my RV joint, ton of storage and indoor there as well.

48 wide x 40 deep

24 x 12 covered in the front

14+ ceilings on 1st floor, 12+ ceilings on the 2nd boxed trusses to add some living space later

Concrete floor next week, sure hope I don't have to shovel any snow with the tractor any time soon. Last year, blizzard equaled me missing going to Vegas for the Superbowl party (annual event for me) and Superbowl Sunday I plowed for about 10 hours straight.

Awesome building.

Those clear span trusses had to be the most expensive part of the building.
Bottom cord looks to be 2x10 or 12.

Mark can you insulate a building like that ? Also how is it attached to the ground ,i see it appears to be a poll building but is the band at the bottom wood and if so want it rot over time. I am not questing how but to lean because it looks like a good way to build a building without having a ton in it
