Was contacted by a fellow looking for some extra scoot under his boot. Told him, Yes, i can fix that.

2003 Silverado SS. All Wheel Drive - 1/2 ton pickup - extended cab. LQ9 6.0 liter LS. Truck was basically stock when i got my hands on it, had longtube headers, full exhaust, lowered and a very cool blue candy paint job. Pics dont show the color of the paint flop.

When it got here it was a filthy heifer, gave it a wipe down and took a few pics before i started ripping it apart.

Disassembling the front end (mostly) Harness is on the to do list as well. ::huh Relocating the battery, ecu, fuse box and anything else that is a necessity. Wants to keep heat and A/C so once its all ironed out ill have to fit heater hoses and get some A/C hoses/lines made. Im guessing the truck was bagged at some point in its life or was going to be :dunno but makes my job easier!

Fast forward past the boring chit like removing clutch fan, fan shroud, all of the heater/coolant hoses, a/c lines, headers/exhaust, intake... disconnecting the harness, dismount fuse block and ecu and shoved it aside..

yum, 16+ years of grime

test fitting where the intercooler is going to live

I would go up to the grill with it, if the outlet was pointing straight down, but the outlet is a 90* on the bottom tank....

making a 2.25" pipe merge into a 2"x3" square tube, which clears the ports on the divided t4 flange ports with a little assistance from a torch and hammer. Tacke my piping from the manifold to the t4 merge. melted it all together and call this side good for now. Still need to add a 1.75" tube for the runner up to the external wastegate.

these pictures got the guy pretty stoked. lots of things i would do different if it were mine but to each their own. i think the symmetrical/mirrored look turned out well. not an easy task when trying to mirror something that isnt a mirror image. nelson racing is the only company i know of that sells mirror image compressor housings. but im happy with the progress

keep in mind, with the turbos facing each other, the housings are larger/smaller on either side with the turbine housing having the inlets where the flanges mate on opposite sides as well. so the bulk of the housings make them seem crooked but my OCD laser aligned, triple measured everything haha. it bugged the chit outta me

Yes it is. Gen 3 LQ9 6.0. 100% stock longblock as of now. I really dont understand his tactics as far as prioritizing the parts needed. Tho i am sure the engine will outlast the transmission, transfer case, cv axles etc etc.

And thanks everyone for the kind words. I appreciate it!

Too damn big. They wouldn't even be on my list of suggestions.

Intake Inlet/ Outlet 3.75" / 2.25"
Compressor A/R 0.66
Compressor Inducer /Exducer (MM) 68.70 / 97.80
Compressor Trim 69
Flange T4 4-Bolt
Turbine A/R 1.05
Turbine Inducer / Exducer (mm) 87.40 / 77.00
Turbine Trim 92

Sutphen30 04-07-2019 10:37 AM

turbos seem a little big,,maybe he's planning on a stroker w/ more camshaft.
