when a hydro looses a prop on the big end the back of the boat goes down which traps air and the boat takes off like a airplane , there is no saving it . If you look close the prop is gone probably broke the shaft right behind the strut , it makes for a wild ride. Back when we ran fuel we used a short shaft at the strut that was 1.3/8 in dia. the shaft from the v drive was 1. 1/8 and we broke them all the time so we would run a stub shaft 1 pass and pull it to check for cracks but most of the time we just put a new one in we kept about 10 in the trailer new. Also 1 pass on a prop , i know today it is better but it still happens.baack then the shafts were made of Aquamet 22 stainless and that was some bad ass steel , i think they still use it.
