Couple companies build them. Its the most replicated car. Two biggest are Factory Five and another called ERA.

I came close to buying a Factory 5 kit about 10 years ago. Then I looked at one from a company out of New Zealand. Their US distributor was in Reno, NV. It was all aluminum body and the fit & finish was awesome. It was about $65 - 70K minus engine and tranny. As much as I liked it, I just couldn't see spending $80K + by the time it was finished on a kit car.

Jay Leno has an aluminum bodied kit car. Not sure who makes it though. A company here in Vancouver makes a replica Porsche Speedster, they are very nice cars, but they are now starting at $75K. When nice real ones being not much more can't see myself buying one. site here: http://www.intermeccanica.com/ they want $52K for a 2010, even that's too much for a replica Speedster.

Found another rare cobra

1963 Shelby Cooper Monaco King Cobra: One of the rarest Carroll Shelby cars to come to auction since his passing, this is one of two King Cobra cars Shelby built for road racing in 1963-64, and the only original King Cobra in existence. Two years ago, its owner sought at least $1.5 million for it at Gooding in 2012

The photos in my first post were taken at Carroll Shelby's old plant, and museum that was located across from the Las Vegas speedway. In December 2013, they moved to a new location off of the south "strip". Here are some more photos of the first Cobra at the new location:
