Never called him. Found a guy that has both of these trikes. The Kaw has original tires, plastic, & seat.

Almost killed myself on a three wheeler back in 1982... I wouldn't give a nickel for one of those again.... most dangerous vehicle I've ever ridden.... for a bike rider... trying no to put a foot down in a hard turn is difficult... let one of those back tires catch your leg at 60 mph & you'll walk funny (if you walk at all) the rest of your life... Be careful on those things..... the four wheelers

Hell I grew up on 3 wheelers! You ain't lived till you have tried to ride a 250 2 stroke 3 wheeler. Most ill handling, light front end, wheelie at any speed vehicle made.
It's like dancing with the devil! Every time I walked away I told myself I cheated death one more time. Lol

Yup. Loved the 3-wheelers. Had the last year 200X and the last year 350X. The 350X was a torque monster in its day (1987 I believe they were). Me and my friends had a ball racing those (dirt and Ice). To be young and more mendable again!

Pretty sure I'm gonna buy those 2 trikes. 85 1/2 Yamaha Tri Z & an 87 Kaw Tecate. 87 was the last year for trikes & Kaw was the only one of the 3 that made a race trike in 87.

82 was before liquid cooling & exhaust control valves. That Tecate is an animal.

Yep I'm sure that was it. Honda was the first of the big builders to make a race trike.

I almost gave my 250 Quadracer away in the late 90's. then I thought screw it. I bought it new & for what little it was worth then I'd let it set. Glad I kept it now. $2,554 brand new out the door in 87.

FWIW - Bought these 250 4 strokes for $1000 each, new, in 2007. Run great but aren't performance machines by any means - knock-off Honda 250's. Each came with spare clutch. EBay.

This thread makes me regret selling my Yamaha Grizzly 700. Work owns a mining property of about 200 acres of mountain with dirt roads. It was a good play ground.
