Me too!!
Our "indoor rain" stopped, was just when concrete curing. We're going to end up finishing the upstairs so didn't do any insulation on the ceiling. One of those things that wasn't sure what to do so didn't do any thing. Rather wait and see how far we are going to go- maybe full insulation, drywall, HVAC and the whole 9 yards, so didn't want to waste money doing a little R's when big R's might be needed. One day.... |

Looking good! I wish I had one of those in my backyard for my boats to work on them. All we have is a small garage with a Mini Hawk and a Boston Whaler.

nope................. but it wasnt workmanship.
needed egress lights... and tamper proof outlets...... talked to the electrician that I hired and told him that that is why I hired you. to know these things...... and he didn't agree with the inspector but what do you do. inspector is the king what he says goes.......... tamper proof gfi's are $18 what a racket..... glad I only had one outlet wired i would go broke on trying to do the whole building with those.

Egress lighting? Is that because you rent out the house on the property? Is this zoned commercial or ??
That is like saying I need a fire exit sign in my living room- doesn't make sense why that would be required? |

Inspector is king....... easier to do what he wants than to fight him on it...... it is tough to pass on the 1st time down here the inspectors have to justify there jobs if everyone passes the 1st time they are not needed. hmmmmm

+1 It's the same every where. Our local guys are pretty cool, so many try to get away with doing things without permits that they are fairly helpful with those that try to do things the right way from the get-go.

Up here all electric installation requires an underwriters final inspection before a C/O is issued regardless the size of the job. If it's a major build than the electric rough in requires an underwriters inspection before any insulation is installed. Takes away the liability from the building inspector and I like that.
I work with all contractors that do things as required by law. Some times if I can't make an inspection on say footings, I'll tell them to take pictures and do the pour. Do things the proper way and everything goes nice and smooth.
