See post #244.
Monroe is about 11K acres, near bloomington. It's OK for a smaller lake.

Well went out for a spin, Ran 68 on GPS at 5100 RPM with full tank of fuel 400L or 100US gallons and two 200 pound adults. Tested it with a 4 blade 24pitch.... I am thinking a 25pitch mirage plus 3 blade would wake it up a bit..?

Thanks for your input BajaBob. I've heard that Mirage 3 blades are the way to go, apparently more bow lift..

Hopefully enough time this season to test one out.

Not really sure to tell you the truth. I bought the boat this way from Shogren. Supposedly it has all the good internals, Edelbrock Air Gap manifold, Lightning headers, Holley 850 cfm carb, MSD ignition, rev limiter set at 5600 rpm.
A good friend of mine who sells Nordic and builds his own motors in TX (Full Throttle Marine) thinks its getting about 570hp to the propshaft after he checked it out at Table Rock. I guess I need to get the motor dyno'ed, but I'm happy with it.

Honestly I've scared the chit out of myself. It's a scary ride at 75mph, and I've got a few hundred rpm to go before I hit the rev limiter. Crazy chinewalk. I need to spend some money and get hydraulic steering on it. Current job situation prevents that. Here's a short video showing the chinewalk issue....

I still love the boat. It's a head turner just for it's rumble, and you wouldn't know it's a '92 by looking at it. I baby it.

I am pretty sure you should have the BLUE msd box not the red as it is for automotive application and doesn't have the same marine seal to ward against moisture.. I am not 100% sure but you might want to look into it.
A used one from Double R Performance would be fairly inexpencive and would be plug and play......

Nice looking engine though..

I recently had my 515ci built. only one valve cover has a breather on it and oil somehow makes it through the end of the hose going to the carb.. have you had any issues with oil coming out of your valve cover breathers..?

if not maybe you could send me some info on your set up...

thanks

No, I have not had any problems with oil coming out of the breathers.

My issues have been my own stupidity. Forgot the drain plug and half submerged the motor one time. I had to replace the cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires in order to getting running good again. Damn, I was mad!

I wish I had more info on my set up. I bought it this way from Shogren Marine and they didn't have any info from the previous owner (from Iowa....anyone recognize it?) It would have to be torn down to know what's exactly in it. I know it has an aggressive cam in it, and all the internals were upgraded from factory. The block is the only original part, that I am know of.

96 272, had a 454 Mag in it, building a 540 for next summer. Love the boat, fits our lake, life style, perfectly. Big enough to play on big water, bay etc, small enough to be your everyday boat.
