That will give you a true GPS signal, instead of 3G or 4g service trying to triangulate off cell towers.

without cell and/or data/network, mobile GPS works okay but things like Google Maps don't unless you have downloaded the map for offline use. All current iphones have gps chips. I've seen numbers like 30-100 feet accurate. with only gps. Hardly good enough to navigate by.

you are talking 8-10 feet right?

With WAAS and DGPS Garmin claims between 25 feet and 10 feet. I have seen that on the water. (or so the GPS claimmed ) They claim 50 feet without DGPS.

Best job I've seen with DGPS was hitting the outer buoy coming back from Ptown, and I'd say it was less than 25 feet off if that. Thats the longest trip I've used it on to see accuracy on, and thats what, about 20 miles? and I don't know if we had DGPS there or not

My tablet using GPS and network shows ~20 feet and it varies up to 30 and down to 10. It has a really hard time getting the sat's from inside the house so I don't know what they is. (gps only)
