I upgraded to bravo xr 1:50 and turning stock 32 maximus at 3650 rpm and doing 65 mph on the gps but the engines are barand new just put 15 hours on them to look of everything is in good place and stay there .

hope to see 3800 when they are dailed in wich should give me 70 mph topspeed .

The diesels seem to fit well in there. How much weight difference between the diesels and big block Chevy? How does the boat respond to trim with the diesels now?

32,

The are about the same in weight as a BB arround 1020 lbs only they are pretty long because they are straight 6 but that's no problem whit the bravo drives ,but if you use a speedmaster or arneson it won't fit because of the tranny u need .

It response good on the trim nothing else as whit 2 BB come's on plane just as good as a gas boat ,that was my biggest concern because of the rpm differents .
The most impressive is the acceleration when you are on plane you can not stay in place when standing .

The 32 is a very balanced hull. With the additional length of your engines, and potentially moving your center of gravity slightly forward, I would be curious how your boat would run with extension boxes.

Yes that is the second andvantage after the feul consumption and the price of diesel here in europe .
You have access to all parts arround the engines in case of a breakdown or service .

The extension boxes crossed my minds several times but it's quite a investment in time and work but also the money to try and if it won't work it's hard to sell here in europe do to the small market for offshore powerboats .

Do you think that it will give more speed ?

I've seen a number of 32's set up with boxes. But, always traditional big block GM's in back.

When I looked for mine 32 I came a cross a lot whit boxes so you would think it will perform better whit them.

If I find a couple for not too much I gonna try them and see what happen,the only negative would be too sell them here in europe if the don,t work .

Hustler/Talon

Hello is this a safe spot for Talon owners since I think the Hustler category is as close as it gets. Looking for other Talon owners and wondering how many of these boats are running around anymore. I just purchased this 22 Talon Viper less motor and having it completely restored. Curious if there is anyone that has experience with these and could share what I might expect once put all back together. This will be the runt of the group on this thread but any information appreciated. This drive has 1.26 gears and curious as to what size prop I should run once a 454 Chevy with an 8-71 blower is installed. Thanks - Colby
