The high ISO performance of the D3S is incredible! With the max ISO going to 102.4K, shooting at ISO 6400, or 12,800 is very clear. The one advantage the DX sensors have over the FX sensor is the 1.5X FL multiplication factor.

Here are some tests done by Dpreview, showing noise vs iso for the D300S, D3, D3S, and Canon 1D MKIV. You can see the D3S blows the 1D away:

Have you looked at the spec on thge new d 800
