For you I would get one of my window units from up stairs and let you use it. We can make it work thru the hatch! You may have to put some gas in my generator though, if you plug into the garage it will blow the breaker.

Seriously guys... this was worse than years past. Not sure how they could have FKd it up anymore.

Hmm. Went as smooth as can be for me. I purposely chose slip 56 since it was in the middle and figured I didnt want to fight for slips. Flew thru the form. got kicked back once for t shirt size.

I am sorry for all the frustration. I have maybe never used eventbrite in the past. Was the problem that everyone had that the slips were not in real time? We need to know for next year.

For those that didnt get in make sure to sign up on 3/15 and get on the waiting list if necessary.

Thats what I did, chose one a ways down the form.... im 55 buddy... seems we will get to part tay together!!

Yes the slips were not in real time... multiple people could select the same slip and whoever finishes checkout first gets it... it should be more like ticketmaster... once the slip is selected by someone completing the purchase, they get an allotted time (maybe 3 minutes) and the slip selection is removed so no one else can select it and they can finish the checkout. After 3 minutes expires, if the purchase is not complete, the slip goes back to available and that person loses it.

The problem is that you have 100 people trying to pick 60 spots at the same time, all in a mad dash to try and get in while answering a bunch of questions at the same time. The system has created a competition amongst very competitive people who do not like to lose.

One of the great draws of BT is how seamless it is, how everything is taken care of. This process completely drops the ball and loses sight of that.

The dock selections have never been in real time. The last 3 years I've done it you basically got a slip based on how fast you filled the form out

There is no spot 50. There is the big wide cig huntress that takes up to much space to put other boat in that spot. (50)

Well I have a hard time bitc-ing too much as I flew right through the entry and got the slip I wanted. Butttttt
I complained last year that the sponsorships were not a good idea when you only have limited dockage and I will say it again. I don't think I'm crazy to say if it continues this will be a run of 40 sponsors and that's it. I will say I get the whole idea behind the sponsorships and it is a great way to raise a lot of money for the charity but it comes at a cost. When "average Joe" can't get a slip but yet is still asked to pony up $1000 to do the run it has to make you question how long this will go on. I think we've done this run 5 or 6 yrs in a row and said last yr I thought it would be the last but when our friends said they were going back I caved in and entered but I'm still not sure we will be there.

Here's a couple of suggestions, Raise the sponsorship to 5500.00 or limited 20 slips for sponsorship and put them put them up for auction with a starting bid of $5500.00. I have no dog in the fight because I drive a Fishing Boat.

This way we can find out who the real PLAYERS ARE.
