What do you have on the walls?
I've used the Home Depot stuff twice, worked well. I've heard some say it is junk but I've had great results with it. Very nice job!! |

Walls are 2 x 6 x 12 studs, insulated, then covered with Tyvek home wrap stapled up backwards. $200 instead of $500 in sheetrock plus the mud/tape/paint. Reflexs the light just as well (or better) and easy to pull a section down to run wires, etc if needed.

Good idea. We're still not sure what function the barn is going to serve so haven't done any thing yet.
24x40 living space on 1st floor 24x40 garage space on 1st floor 48x30 storage space on 2nd floor or 48x30 living space on 2nd floor 48x40 garage space on 1st floor or 24x30 living space on 2nd floor 24x30 storage on 2nd floor 48x40 garage space on 1st floor I like 3rd option from the choices above. Issue is don't want to have $500M wrapped up in a barn if going to build a house. Biggest issue is H20- we don't have it. So have to decide the above so we know where to put the well tank. Don't want it in the barn if going to build a house one day because then have to worry about pipes busting or heating that area and so on. Don't want to do work twice either. So doing nothing.. This year gonig to put ceiling in for first floor and flooring down for 2nd floor, with insulation between them and then go from there. |

If you followed this thread some of the last pics I posted was from cooling additions I made to my car for the racetrack. Well, finally decided I didn't want to track my daily driver anymore and brought a new toy to the stable!!!!!

I read some thing some where that you were going to a full track car- cool, as long as there is still a boat in the barn!

But I've found the expression "track-is-crack" very accurate, running a road course is SOOOO intense and I love it!!!! |

Nice build! So did you ever "have" to close in the garage on the house? That really sucks if you had to.

The paperwork I signed said I would close in the attached garage....but it didn't say when . As of today absolutely NO progress has been made on getting that done. (although we do want to so our 3 teenage boys to have a space to call their own)

Need to update:
The attached garage is now a NICE rec-room for my teenage boys......probably nicer than the rest of the house. ( I need to take some pics) And the mustang got a little boost recently. Sure makes working on it easier!!! (especially after I hit the wall head-on doing nearly 60 and had to re-do the entire front end last month!!) I backed the dually in under it just to see if everything would fit inside. Plenty of room behind the car and between each row of vehicles but I had gotten use to enough room we could play Ping-Pong in there WITH the boat and 3 cars in there. I thought about it but no......good thing too. The Toyhauler with the racecar in it tops 13,000lbs loaded with gear/water/etc.
