Boat ran a little hot
Last year I was working to get a 1974 Sidewinder refinished by Memorial weekend 2008. The exterior was fine on it. Had to gut the interior, including flooring and transum and overhaul motor. Old motor had froze and busted. Well, to make a long story short, the week before Memorial weekend, I worked until after dark every night after work to get the new floor installed.
![]() ![]() ![]() (Wife didn't get any pics of the finished floor) With that done, Friday night Memorial weekend, with flood lights on, I was setting the timing on the freshly over-hauled engine I was putting in and was planning on running the very next day at Lake Wylie. One HOT back fire later: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Moral to this story: Always make sure your exhaust manafold clamps are tight before trying to turn the engine over. |
