Toys for Tots Poker Run Dec. 17th Jacksonville Fl

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17 (We Know Short notice)
We will gather at Goodby's Creek launch ramp (across the street from Hooters on San Jose Blvd at Baymeadows Rd, in Jacksonville, FL (easy access from I-95, just Exit I-95 at the Baymeadows exit and go west until it ends at San Jose Blvd. Hooters is to your left. Turn left, cross the creek and turn left into the launch ramp parking area.) at 10:00AM for those that want some time to talk boat and peek into engine compartments before we go. Cheap gas is available at several locations within two blocks. Hooters in downtown Jax will be our lunch stop.
If the weather is very nice we can add some distance to the run to Hooters downtown.
If the weather sux we can just leave the boats on the trailers, talk about them, then go across the street to Hooters and gather there.

Bring a $20+ toy, unwrapped, to donate to Toys for Tots. I will make the donation of the toys in the name of the SEADOGs.

Additional, for those interested, we will each throw $10 into the pot and play one Poker Hand. It will be a single deck, 5 card draw, with two card max throw. Winner takes all. Cards will be delt at Hooters. If we get enough boats, the winner could win enough to pay for his gas that day.

Those who want to stay overnight somewhere can safely keep their boat at my house overnight. I have ample room for a minimum of 8 boat trailers with boats at my house. And I don't have any sprinkler heads to worry about.
La Quinta Inn motel is close and cheap. It is located on San Jose Blvd/Hartley Rd which is the Mandarin Exit of I-295. Make your reservations individually.

Please feel free to invite your other boating friends, as well. I have been asked to open the event up to other boating groups who may want to participate as well. Come one, came ALL!

It isn't the Quantity of boats showing up, but the Quality of the People that show up, otherwise 10 to 15 boat should be on hand,

I'll plan on coming via water. Probably tie up at the Hooter's dock before we run. There is a meeting of the Jax Performance Boat Club Wednesday night. I can pass around the informatin their and see who's interested. Do you want me to call you with any additional participants?

It was a great day on the Water, 78 Degrees, no wind, Beautiful day and we acquired lots toys, Filled Marks new Donzi, Thanks everyone for such a great day for the KIDS

FBR. . . The Freedom Boat Reunion will take place on August 11, 2007 on the Mount Dora chain of Lakes. This event is a school supply drive to collect for Lake Weston Elementary. After a great day out on the lakes come back to the host Hotel with some school supplies. There we will have a shared plate pot luck [I will be grilling streak tacos] so bring a covered plate if you like. The Host Hotel is the Holiday Inn Express in Tavares 352-742-1600.

At 10:00 AM we will have a drivers meeting in the hotel lobby to set up the POKER RUN. There will be a small charge for the poker run [$10..?]. Trophies will be given to top 3 hands. Card count to take place at host hotel dinner. Contact Rus at 407-760-3481or

It is nice that the enthusiasm for this event has grown but it would certinly be nice for all concerned to be on the same page . The synergy of this event could be very great and I first put on this TFT event on Dec of 2000 and I put out the flyer proposing this event of 2007 at the Police and fire Poker run. I wish that we could have co oped . I would love this to go well for the benifit of the children. give me a call I would love this event to be great and I am sure cooperation will make it happen
