We always make reservations as soon as we get home from the trip. Staying at Harbor Landing on Holiday Isle. Always bring a bunch of friends to AJ's on Thursday night to kick off the trip. This PR is always around my B-day. That's all I need - another excuse to get shatty!!

We were looking into Harbor Landing because of the docking but could not find one for only 3 nights.

We normally stay 4 nights. Didn't know they wouldn't go three. Very cool place although it's a little bit long of an idle to get all the way back there. They even have a lot adjacent to the condo buildings for trailer parking.

First year we went we stayed at Silver Shells condos and stored the boat at AJ's for $50 a day, unlimited in and outs and washed (rub rail down) and flushed on each take out. Then, another $20 a day to store the trailer at an off-site lot. Sustained much damage to the boat during the stay including outdrive oil on my interior thanks to the boat stored above me, broken emblems and trim pieces, dead batteries due to leaving battery switches on and one outdrive jammed in gear. Not to mention, the boat was never in the water on time.

After that, we decided to rent a house or condo on Holiday Isle with enough dock space to handle 3 - 4 boats. We used to rent a pink place on Norriego drive called the Flamingo Cottage from ResortQuest. But, the owners have let the maintenance lapse and it was rapidly deteriorating. Harbor Landing is brand new and we stumbled into the Penthouse last year because Newman Daily screwed up our original res. Hope to be there for some years to come.

Good luck finding a place.

I'm going to look again on VRBO.com and see what i can find. It would be nice to just walk out and get in the boat. We stayed in a hotel one year and the following year stayed @ the Palms but it has always been a hassel with the boats. Do you have a contact for Habor landing?

Jax, we went through Newman Dailey, a property management firm in Destin. I don't know how many units they manage there but it's worth a try. Here's their website.

DEFINITELY make sure they have a slip and GET IT IN PRINT!!! That's part of how they screwed up our reservations last year. They had to move us to the penthouse sine they had no more 3 BR available. Since it was so nice, we just booked 4 couples this year and we'll keep the PH.

Pirates cove in Fort Walton, good docks and parking with nice condos...us AL crew stay there for Bowlegs, 4th, and Emerald Coast. Gives you a good ride in the boat to crab island and to navare beach.

Hammertime is right on! All of the Alabama crew has been staying at Pirates Bay for about the last 8 years. Small condos that sleep 4, with small kitchen. Nice Slips as well. By water it is just out of the "No Wake" zone in Ft. Walton if you are headed west.

I'll be there. Rented a 5br house on Holiday Isle for 7 nights. Not sure when we're getting into town, probably either Wed or Thurs.

I called them today. They have 30 plus studio room still. They could not tell me anything on the boat slips. They said to call back Tuesday and they should have the answers. Thanks for the info.
