We were there with the boat, it is on Back River. Afterwards, took the boat in and dropped it off at Riverside Marine (a bit further up the river) to have the Outboards switched out.

Calm water boats should love that part of Back River. My 3 Hydrostreams spent many’s hours there.

V8 Verados, technically they are the platform for the new 500's. My speed boat days are behind me (checkmate then Baja then sonic). Looking for reliability and good cruise speed. Current 275' have three blade 21 props, with the increase in torque I can probably go to a four blade for better cruising speed, and no longer have to run premium gas!

Ah, I thought you meant the Concept was getting new power.
Congrats, that's exciting!! I wanted the V8 Mercury for my 'toon but they were back ordered so have the Suzuki 300 duoprop. It is a great fit for a toon because weight in the back isn't a bad thing as it keeps the bow up which means no swamping the bow. |

Nope, 377WA Intrepid. Odd that Intrepid responded to my request about Props, saying I should do a smaller pitch - see below exchange.
1. What props do you recommend? We still had the original 275 with 14.25"X 21P 3 blades. Discussing this over with the team, our recommendation would be 3blade 19P Mercury Merage Plus or Enertia. |

Are the new 250's or 300's? I was thinking 300's based on your increase in TQ comment but that could apply with the new being V8 over the current being V6 no matter the HP rating.
Either way I'm sort of confused because being V8's, especially if higher HP, going with a smaller diameter and less pitch than you are currently running doesn't make sense to me. I could understand an Enertia Eco because of the 16" diameter (fixed diameter across the pitch range) but a regular Enertia in 19p is 14" diameter (dynamic diameter across the pitch range) to me it would seem like you would blow them out as soon as you dropped the hammer. Keep us updated please! |
