Shelby Cobra CSX2000
Estimated valued of over $26 million dollars, the CSX2000 is the first Shelby Cobra ever built. Shelby America took the AC Ace chassis, inserted a small block Ford engine and re-engineered the car to handle all the additional power. The rest is history.

Loved these cars since the 80's. Friend of mine Grand Father was a Ford dealer and sold them in the 60's. Friends Dads first car was a 289 Cobra, he still owns it and added a 427 to his collection in the early 70's. Think I first saw them in 1980, when I first started hanging out with him. His Dad has turned down $400K offers for the 289 and someone offered $750K for the 427 which he turned down. Friends Dad is an oral surgeon and doesn't need money.

A friend of mine had a 63 AC Cobra 289. I think around 2006 it was worth about $800K. He sold it in about 2009 or 2010 for $650K.

Both my friends cars are driveable but they need restoration. Mostly in the garage and dusty. Seats are well worn, etc. Doesn't want to restore because they are only original once. Unrestored survivors do better today though.

My uncle-in-law by marriage (wifes dads sisters ex-husband) that was over my house this past Saturday for dinner use to have an "Allard" which is the car that gave Shelby the inspiration to build the Cobra.

I saw the other day that Ak Miller put a ford v-8 in a AC body a year before Shelby did.

The tour guide said Carroll was offered $57M for this car before he passed away. Carroll turned down the offer.

Couple companies build them. Its the most replicated car. Two biggest are Factory Five and another called ERA.
