Cool Finds @ Ocracoke Island

most of you guys may not know but i am one of those guys you see on the beach with a metal detector ... well this past week i was hunting in the sound at ocracoke island and found some cool stuff . an old musket ball and a piece of a ships bell that i gave to the maritime museum on ocracoke where it will now be on display . the piece of bell is estimated to be 100 years old !!! research is under way to try to find out what ship it may be from.
it was about 10 to 12 inches deep in the sand...i think its the coolest thing i have ever found

thanks guys for the comments . hope to get a E mail soon from the museum on what they find ..next year i will take my dive gear so i can look in deeper water. ..no one knows the exact location but me and the museum folks. do not want any one to find the rest of the bell and take the chance they wont give it to the museum. would be a real shame if that happend

That is a great find, and good luck on finding the rest of the bell. That would be cool if you went back to the same place and found more stuff from the same ship.

That's a once in a life time find.

BTW, think you could bring that equipment up my way and help me find that irrigation valve that has been eluding me for the last several years?
