R we secure w/ the chopper?????

Blue Oval 04-02-2014 05:15 PM

The Chopper is 98% secure. Randy that is doing the video was asking about getting some of the Go Pro video that poker run boats record. He will use it on video. Told him I did not think it would be a problem to get some coverage.

Got a call from these guys offering to come up to Boyne Thunder to help with boosting the fuel up for the Poker Run at our lunch stop. I turned them over to Hugh. Sounded like nice guys, didn't know if anyone new anything about their product.

Check into it but I think Dave wesseldyke ( spelling) at wesco racing engines had sum development and testing with it. I am 95% sure on this

Dave has been working on that product for about 4 years now. Testing in his Skater and on the dyno. Looks like a pretty cool idea to me, and he's had quite a bit of success.

Dave is a super guy, and definitely knows his motors! His shop is wall to wall POWER...I think the 540s he built for me were about the smallest hp he had in the place, lol.

a few years ago there was a 242 Formula I believe that did the whole run!! That's when we ran out 2 Beaver Island!!

phragle 04-16-2014 07:21 PM

This year there is going to be a 22 foot aqua gokart doing the run.

Even if Michigan gets nasty, Lake Char has to be 15 miles long, so you'll at least get a good run in on Char

phragle 04-17-2014 07:51 PM

My gokart isn't afraid of nasty......

We had a 20ft Regal when the boys were little. We would go to North Port for Ice Cream. Cool thing was we only burned $20.00 in gas!:rock One time a buddy came with his 22ft Bayliner, Lake Michigan got ruff on way back. He dropped off one of the waves, cracked his fuel tank that was built into the boat, filled the bilge of boat. We got him home safe, $5500.00 repair, the insurance company paid. Yes, Bayliners are really that cheap!

BOOSTane 04-18-2014 11:37 AM

Hey fellas,

I am one of the engineers over at BOOSTane. We got into contact with the folks over at Boyne Thunder to see if there was any opportunity to help you guys get reliable, high octane fuel on the water for the Boyne Thunder poker run coming up this summer.

Dave Wesseldyk is apart of our team, and has been continually testing our products and running our products on all of his engines. We all come from offshore powerboat racing, so we understand the difficulty and anxiety around running these expensive, high performance engines hard on 90 or 89 octane fuel found at marinas.

We are here to bring an affordable, reliable, and most of all convenient alternative to lugging around drums of race fuel. We have been 3rd party tested to raise 93 pump grade to 110 octane. Quick math: 5 gallons of BOOSTane, will transform 400 gallons of 90 octane to 95 octane. Conservatively.

So hit me with any questions you guys have! Thanks in advance.
