If ya got the coin,we've stayed at "the hotel" in SB which is nice. Their rooftop pool is great overlooking the ocean and the service is pretty good though rooms small. I couldn't find the deal there as in years past but found one at the Savoy. It's a cab to the convention but right on beach and they got a couple of pools that the wife likes.

Everything in Miami during the boat show is full

Looking at Hotels tonight. I'll have a rental car so no need to be close to the show. I'm checking out the Hotel in South Beach.

I used www.otel.com for the 1st time to book my hotel and saved over 1K versus booking direct to the hotel for our upgraded room. I was a bit skeptical at first but after booking called the hotel and confirmed my reservation was real and valid.

If U R stay'n in SB I would recommend no car rental, walk or short cab around!!! lotza traffic, parking issues, party'n issues!! etc/etc, not worth it!!!
good luck!

Maybe I'll skip the rental car. But I like having a car on vacation even if I don't use it that much.
