Eddie, The detail in the rigging and layout on the engines are beyond awesome. The Carbon Fiber bracketry as well as the billet work is just BAD ASS!!:rock

Great lookin engines Eddie!

I think it's really cool to see that 90 mph Cig and even more impressive to see how technology has progressed in that the boat is running 90 with 565 hp engines!

Thanks. I actually layed up the carbon fiber myself. I couldn't find any sheets that were large enough and thick enough. I layed it up on a large piece of glass(actually a window that I changed in my house) It's 2 layers of carbon and 5 layers of 11 oz. 90* biaxial fiberglass cloth. It ended up about 3/16" thick. The only problem is that it's only finished on one side. That's not an issue for the coil brackets, but it was for the electronics plate since you see both sides. For that, I laminated 2 pieces back to back. I ground down the back side to make them smooth and put on one layer of 1oz. stranded mat, put the 2 pieces together and put them in the press with about 2000 psi of pressure to sit overnight. They ended up about 3/8" thick and are like a piece of steel. After drilling and tapping the holes, I put on 3 heavy coats of clear for UV protection. I was surprised that we could tap it just like we do the aluminum plates. I did a test piece with a 1/4" bolt and tightened it as much as I could and tried to pull the threads and they would not budge. This was the first time we did the carbon but definitely won't be the last. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. It was very time consuming, but now I have a 4'x6' sheet to make more.

That's really cool! That crap takes a lot of time and effort! Maybe lay it up next time with 2 pieces of glass and some weight on top to get both sides smooth? That would also make the laminate lighter and stronger like vacuum bagging. Not that it needs to be any stronger. Just thinking out loud.

The 48' Outerlimits cat was one of the most incredible boats I have ever seen. The carbon fiber work is impeccable, as is the rigging. The seats are carbon fiber and fit like a glove and there are electrically adjustable foot rests. I have been in and through a bunch of boats but this one is one that all the others will be compared to. You can not fully appreciate it without seeing it in person.
Talk about custom......hows about a stripper pole (it was put away at the time) with flush mounted led's surrounding it.

The paint work was amazing. There is both matte and gloosy finishes on both the deck and hull sides. The top sides of the cockpit have the carbon showing, as do the darker spots you see on the hull sides. That is the actual carbon fiber of the hull showing. Absolutely gorgeous.

A few rigging pics. The entire bilge is carbon. The workmanship of the layup is incredible.
