I received this in an email And thought I would pass the pictures on. the only description I got was this:
PHOTOS STORED IN AN OLD BROWNIE CAMERA

Thought you might find these photos very interesting; what quality from 1941.
Pearl Harbor photos found in an old Brownie stored in a foot locker.
THESE PHOTOS ARE FROM A SAILOR WHO WAS ON THE USS QUAPAW ATF-11O.
I THINK THEY'RE SPECTACULAR!

just to give you an idea how bad it was, emotionally on the sailors.my girlfriends father, who just died at 93 yrs old(not many vets left).still to his dying day had nightmares of the explosions.i forgot the whole storie, but his best friend died right next to him and he was burned really bad,but got out from below.spent many months in hospital, then went back to fight in the pacific.that day made him 1 tough man.

My grandfather was a WWII vet. A very tough man. Those pictures were humbling. Anyone that goes to fight for our country in my eyes is a warrior and a patriot. But those guys back then were as tough as nails.

Holy crap they are amazing pictures - they really capture some of the horror that those guys must have gone through.

Here are some more pictures from the same time as well as additional info on losses that day. BTW those shots weren't taken with a Brownie.

Thanks for the additional pictures I always have liked looking at aerial pics. And it's nice to know a little more about where they came from. It sure humbles a person to see even if it is just a little glimpse of what our men and women in the Armed Forces have went threw then and now that we may remain free. God Bless the American Solder!
