last year we stayed at the Days Inn in Anderson SC which is right behind Charlie T's where everybody hangs out friday night. I dont know of any hotels on the water.

I too stay at the Days Inn during the event, There is the Lake Hartwell Inn in Clemson, SC, they had docks in the past but I haven't checked on their condition since the last time I stayed there 3-4 years ago.
Other than that there are serveral hotels in the Anderson area.

I might just end up looking into the days inn. I was told the cabin are a good ways from the start point. I take it there is a ramp near by?

Hey Steel where are you going to put in ? Seems like it was a town called Portman last year. I was with the group from the club last year. I dont think I can find it on my on. Looks like I'm the only one going down Saturday. Do you know it well enough to give me some directions ?
Steel Outlawed
05-14-2007, 08:10 PM
No problem, we are going down Friday and staying on the boats.
Portman marina is what you are looking for.
Take I-85 South to exit 14
Go to the stop sign and take a right. If you need fuel there is a good gas station just across the interstate.
Contuinue straight until you get to the red light.
Go through the red light and follow that road until you get to a right turn at the guard shack. Pay the attendant the follow the road to the ramp.
If you have and problems give me a call on my cell 864-420-4832

I know Carolina Boat Center is coming with a new 35ZR picture below and I believe the factory will also be bringing a new 38ZR.

We had a great but short trip. I lost the coil on the port motor and had to limp back to the dock 7 miles on one engine. There were some awesome boats down there. Im jelous you got to ride on the big Donzi. My camera worked worse than my boat did I thought I took about 30 pictures, but I only got 3.
I enjoyed my ride with Steel Outlaw and nice meeting you for the 1st time Doc Holiday. We had a good showing for Team Baja. I hope to have a little longer ride next time.

We had a great day on the water Saturday, but a pair of 9's doesn't go very far these days. I got to meet Steeled Outlaw and see Dock again. We hooked up with them at the T-60 after getting a late start to change out the batteries in the Baja Boss 272 Dock's original Baja. We were going to run up to Clemson with the pack, but my son let his cap blow off and we had to drop back to retrieve it. After we completed the salvage of the cap there wasn't a rooster tail in sight. Navigating the chop and wakes behind two Outlaws and the several beak boats will keep you on your toes. Since there was no way we could catch back up to the pack we finished up on the South end and checked our hands in about 3:00 PM. I was sorry that we didn't get to meet any of the other guys. We need to put up a Boat Freaks Banner, or something, at the card check in next year so that we can put faces with names.
Who was solo in the red Donzi 22 (I don't think it was an 18) Classic. You don't see many solid red ones and only a few with a windshield. We got some pretty good air a few times negotiating the wakes to find a running lane so I know he spent some air time. I miss my Sweet 16 sometimes, but not the fact that you worked your a$$ off driving that puppy.

There sure were a lot of nice boats there at this run. I have the fever for a go fast boat now. We went down and rode with some friends that live on the lake but we were in a slow boat.
I got a few pictures of some of you guys hanging out early in the morning.
Let me see if I know how to make these some up.

We were at the Hartwell Marina when a lot of boats arrived and I did notice and comment to my friends that the boats in your group were wearing PFD's.
I remember another boat like yours with an American flag on the front all the way from Arizona and one similiar to yours with the same colors and everyone had their PFD on.
Nice job

Thanks for the pictures, its hard to get pictures of your own boat.
