We learned a lot last year and thank all of you that attended. In 2012 we gave away $100,000 dollars to our three chosen children's charities. Our goal this year, with your help, is to award $300,000 dollars.

Stay tuned, Captains party and two days of vendors undercover at Sunset Cove parking lot with many more boats on display, live entertainment and yes we are keeping the Laser and Firework display after the awards ceremony. Lake Lanier Legacy Lodge is now taking reservations. Rooms are very nice, Villas are like being at home. Details to follow, new dock reservation system coming online AND Ice will be available dockside!

News Flash---For all of our old friends and our new attendees---With well over a hundred Captains choosing to cruise on our long run from the dam to the north end of Lake Lanier last year, this year we will have a staggered start, separated by speed categories. This will give each category their opportunity to run without all that pesky wave action. We will all end up at the same card stop but separated by a few minutes. Our plans are well underway and if you enjoyed the weekend event last year, just stay tuned for what we have planned for this year. Reservations at Legacy Lodge at Lake Lanier Islands Resort are now being accepted. Mention Pirates of Lanier Poker Run for our rates. Villas will fill up quickly so don't hesitate to make the run and get your hotel or villa reservations. Our dock reservation system will be in place soon, so no worries, we have docks for all. First ENTER the Poker Run at www.lanierpartners.org then you will receive a "Welcome Aboard" email with all the details about hotel and dock slip reservations. Entrants will get a code to enter, after clicking on dock reservation link on Welcome Aboard email, enter code to select dock and slip for each day desired. Please, this is an honor method on the code, please do not give out as we want participants to be able to get dock slips, if non-participants get the code our folks will be out of luck when the docks fill up. We have plenty of slips for entrants, just sign up. Thank you, and so glad you are coming.

The only Laser show on Lake Lanier all year Saturday night along with 25 foot big screen showing helicopter footage from the day. Extra hands may be purchased by Captains at the card table

Finalizing plans to add a lunch stop on Saturday, July 20, at Port Royale Marina, also one of our card stops. First class facility with floating docks, restaurant, bar and great marine store.

Hi Everyone,

We want to keep you up to date as changes and additions are made. Our event is looming close and we are very excited and appreciative you are coming. We have a great weekend planned.

If this is your first visit to Lake Lanier Islands resort you will find it very family friendly offering horseback riding, zip lines, golf and tennis not to mention all of the fun activities surrounding the Pirates of Lanier Poker Run.

Our host hotel, Legacy Lodge (770-945-8787) has been full for quite a while, however we never know when plans change opening up a few rooms. On our website you can find our two closest back up hotels.

Beginning Thursday, July 18, from Noon til 5:00, the Welcome Committee will be out on the street as you approach the Lanier Islands Entrance gate, so continue past Holiday Marina to the Islands and we will Welcome you and answer any questions you might have and give direction.

If you are flying into Atlanta commercial and you don't want to rent a car, you may call James Davenport (404-399-5899). James is capable of supplying Town car, Suburban or Limo ground transportation from Atlanta-Hartsfield airport to Lake Lanier, about an hour drive.

If you are interested in chartering helicopter transport directly to Lanier Islands you may contact Rich Maresco 678-576-1210 He operates a Bell Longranger with 6 passenger seats. If you have 6 people, baggage may be limited.

If you are flying private, the closest general aviation airport to the lake is Gainesville, GA (KGVL) 5500 foot runway and ILS approach.

Upon arrival, if your boat and/or rig need cleaning you may call GKH Detailing (Brad Hayes) 770-910-4421 You will want to call Brad beforehand as he will surely be busy Thursday and Friday.

And last but not least, if you experience any mechanical problems during the weekend Herb Stotler of Stotler Racing, very close to the lake, has offered his mechanics and shop to get you going again. Note: He does not have Mercury diagnostics.

Whew! It's finally done! We have the Pirates of Lanier Video/slideshow in hand and they will go in the mail by Saturday morning for those who prepurchased at the event. For those wanting to order one you will see it available on website after tomorrow. Again and again, thank you all that attended and to all that will buy the DVD.
